GFPS Best Paper Award at SICFP 2017

Announcement

We are pleased to announce that the second GFPS best paper award was awarded during the 15TH SCANDINAVIAN INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON FLUID POWER SICFP’17​ – FLUID POWER IN THE DIGITAL AGE​

The recipient of the GFPS best paper award @ SICFP2017 is

 

A. Alexander and A. Vacca for the paper “Real-Time Parameter Setpoint Optimization for Electro-Hydraulic Traction Control Systems​"

 

Authors affiliation:Maha Fluid Power Research Center, Purdue University, Lafayette IN, USA

 

GFPS Best Paper Award at JFPS 2017

GFPS will work with the JFPS2017 organizers to identify the recipient of the best paper award.

Award procedure: the conference organizer will select a number (up to 10) of papers candidate for the award, from the results of the paper review process already in place at the conference

  1. A GFPS delegation will review the manuscript and attend the presentation of each candidate paper
  2. The best paper will be selected on the basis of originality, rigorousness, and technical contents of the manuscript and quality of the presentation

The presenting author will receive a prize of $500 and a best certificate. The award will also appear in a proper section of the GFPS website.

GFPS Meeting - June 8

The next GFPS meeting will take place during the SICFP 2017 conference in Linköping, Sweden.

The meeting is scheduled on Thursday, June 8, 3-4pm (room # to be announced)

The meeting is open to all GFPS participating institutions,

but we also welcome participants from other institutions (either academic or non-academic) which are interested in becoming future GFPS participants.

Meeting topics are: status of GFPS; GFPS boards; new GFPS participants; GFPS website; GFPS awards

If you would like to suggest a new topic for the meeting, please contact the GFPS Secretary of the Board: Andrea Vacca (avacca@purdue.edu)

JOIN GFPS

Join GFPS to become part of a worldwide network of institutions committed to promote the fluid power discipline.

Key reasons

  • Get access to a wide literature database of technical papers in various fields of fluid power. Currently there are more than 1,000 papers you can get access to after you become GFPS participant. Log in credentials will be given after your participation gets approved.
  • Stay informed on fluid power news and actively participate into the fluid power community. If you are a research institution, you will be able to post research highlights on the GFPS website. If you are a fluid power company. You will be able to post your openings into the GFPS webpage, which is frequently viewed by graduate and undergraduate students of all GPFS academic institutions.
  • Contribute in joining the Board and the Advisory Committee. Every participant will nominate an Advisory Committee member that will work with the Board for new initiatives to strengthen promotional activities for fluid power.
  • GFPS is a non-profit institution. The participation fees will be exclusively used for promotional activities, including student awards at fluid power conferences, and future student travel awards.

Want to join?

Your participation request will be reviewed by the current GFPS board. To be eligible, you must be:

  • An academic institution with both research and educational fluid power programs, or
  • A fluid power company willing to support GFPS initiatives, or
  • A fluid power organization

For academic and government institutions, the participation fee is USD 300 per year. For small institutions the fee is calculated as $70 x number of participating individuals.

For fluid power companies, organizations, the participation fee is USD 500 per year (an additional fee will be charged for every position posted).
