FPMC 2024 GFPS Best Paper Award

We are happy to announce the GFPS Best Paper Award was given at the 2024 FPMC, the recipients are: Martin Herrera Perez, Grey Boyce-Erickson, Jonatan Pozo Palacios, John Voth, Paul Michael, and James Van De Ven, for the paper "Torque Ripple Minimization in a Variable Displacement Linkage Motor (VDLM) Through the Customization of Piston Trajectory".

2024 International Maha Fluid Power Conference best paper award

We are happy to share that the GFPS best paper award was awarded during the 2024 International Maha Fluid Power Conference at Purdue University, USA. The recipients are Dinghao Pan, Andrea Vacca, Dan Gysling with the paper "Analysis of the Incomplete Filling of a Positive Displacement Pump Due to Undissolved Gas Involving Experiments and Simulations".

14th IFK Best Paper Award

We are happy to share that the 14th International Fluid Power Conference (14th IFK) in Dresden, best paper award was awarded to Brumand-Poor, Faras; Bauer, Niklas; Plückhahn, Nils; Schmitz, Katharina, from RWTH Aschen University - Institute for Fluid Power Drives and Systems (ifas), with the paper "Fast Computation of Lubricated Contacts: A Physics-informed Deep Learning Approach".

ICFP2025 call for papers-Hangzhou, China

Since its inception in 1985 by Professor Yongxiang Lu, the international conference on fluid power transmission and control (ICFP) has been held consecutively and successfully in Hangzhou every four years. The 11th International Conference on Fluid Power Transmission and Control (ICFP 2025) will be held on April 14-16, 2025 in Hangzhou, China. The conference is organized by State Key Laboratory of Fluid Power Components and Mechatronic Systems at Zhejiang University. This year we will celebrate the 40th anniversary of ICFP. The goal of the conference is to network, exchange ideas, and present the recent research trends in fluid power and motion control technologies. The conference will include technical presentations, keynote lectures, and social events. For the first time in the history of Maha events, there will be an exposition area to display latest component and off-road vehicles with latest actuation technologies.

Purdue’s Maha Fluid Power Research Center invites you to participate to the 2024 International Maha Fluid Power Conference. The conference will be held at Purdue University from September 3rd to 5th. The goal of the conference is to network, exchange ideas, and present the recent research trends in fluid power and motion control technologies. The conference will include technical presentations, keynote lectures, and social events. For the first time in the history of Maha events, there will be an exposition area to display latest component and off-road vehicles with latest actuation technologies.

Peer reviewed paper contributions will be published SCOPUS indexed and published open access. The conference will also feature “presentation only” technical contributions, by either academia or industry.

Global Fluid Power Society (GFPS 2024) June 17-20 in Hudiksvall

The Global Fluid Power Society (GFPS) is excited to announce the call for papers for the upcoming GFPS PhD Symposium 2024, scheduled from June 17 to June 20, 2024, in Hudiksvall, Sweden.

Hudiksvall is a center for Fluid Power industry in northern Sweden and the conference is organized jointly between Linköping University and the Hudiksvall Hydraulics Cluster, HHK. The conference will be embedded in the industrial landscape and there will be plenty of opportunities for industrial visits as well as an exhibition at the conference site.

This symposium offers a unique platform for PhD students worldwide to present their research in fluid power technology, and receive invaluable feedback from esteemed academics, industry professionals, and fellow researchers.

A notable highlight of this year's symposium is that accepted papers will be published in a dedicated book by Springer Nature, a premier global publisher of scientific content. This publication provides a great opportunity to increase the visibility and impact of your research. The book will be open access.

GFPS Best Paper Award at the 18th Scandinavian International Conference on Fluid Power

We are happy to share that the twenty-second GFPS best paper award was awarded during the 18th Scandinavian International Conference on Fluid Power in Tampere, Finland. 

The recipients of the GFPS best paper award are Daniel Eriksson*, Reza Ghabcheloo* and Marcus Geimer**, from Tampere University (*) and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (**) with the paper "Towards Multiple Material Loading for Wheel Loaders Using Transfer Learning".

GFPS Best Paper Award at the 2022 IEEE Global Fluid Power Society PhD Symposium

We are happy to share that the twentieth and twenty-first GFPS best paper awards were awarded during the 2022 IEEE Global Fluid Power Society PhD Symposium in Naples, Italy. The best paper awards at GFPS PhD Symposiums are special as the receipients also receive the Backé Medal, dedicated to Prof. Wolfgang Backé. 

The recipients of the GFPS best paper award are:

  • Yannick Duensing, Amos Merkel, and Katharina Schmitz from RWTH Aachen University, Institute for Fluid Power and Systems, with the paper "Degradation Identifaction of an EHA Piston Pump by Analysis of Load-Holding States";
  • Xin Tian*, Xiaofan Guo*, Patrick Stump*, Giovanni Dessy*, Andrea Vacca*, Stefano Fiorati**, and Francesco Pintore** from (*) Purdue University and (**) CNH Industrial S.p.A, with the paper "New Hydraulic Control Technologies for Improving the Energy Efficiency of the Hydraulic System of Agricultural Tractors and Their Implements".
